Garcia, Roberts on the mend

Nothing grabs the attention these days quite like the words “flu-like symptoms.” But Quakes fans can rest easy in the knowledge that both Nick Garcia and Jamil Roberts haven’t been struck by the virus.

The word that both Garcia and Roberts were under the weather was revealed in the game notes for last night’s match. And the comments of manager Frank Yallop after the game didn’t really do much to quell the notion that something more serious might be afoot.

But word out of Quakes camp is that the term “flu-like” was a bit of a misnomer, in that the illness that laid low both players was more of a stomach ailment. As it turns out, Garcia was back in training today and Roberts is expected to do the same on Friday.
