With a 6 p.m. start time for the season opener against Real Salt Lake this Saturday, the Earthquakes started their Tuesday training session at the same time in an effort to replicate the lighting and field conditions they will face against the reigning MLS Cup champions. Bring on the new MLS season!
A sleepy spring evening at Buck Shaw Stadium awaited me Tuesday as I entered the gates to watch the Earthquakes train in anticipation of their season opener against Real Salt Lake. The air was still as the waning sunlight faded behind the Santa Cruz Mountains. A light dusting of pollen still coated the bench seating where I sat in the East Stand.
