I like “Shrade”, but not sure if he has the soccer chops for color commentator. He’s got the delivery chops and all that, but they will be missing the soccer expertise in the booth a bit I think. My all-time favorite pairing was Shrade / Ray Hudson.

I hope the new PBP guy learns soccer quick. I like the idea of Shrader as color commentator though, I think it’s probably something he’ll do well.

Regarding Elliott, one other thing I noticed was veteran players like Huckerby going to Elliott for a conversation rather than Yallop, Russell, or Eklund. I got the impression this was about what he was seeing out there instead of the fan yelling at them from the third row.
