Huckerby to go window shopping in San Jose

Darren Huckerby is set to arrive in San Jose on Wednesday night, but according to Quakes’ manager Frank Yallop, Huckerby is “not here to train.”
Instead the Englishman will have a look around the Quakes’ facilities and watch the team train Thursday and Friday, at which point he’ll try to come to a decision on where his MLS future lies.
Huckerby spent the early part of this week in Toronto and was spotted sitting in the stands with TFC G.M. Mo Johnston during the team’s 1-0 loss to the Vancouver Whitecaps in the Nutrilite Canadian Championship (a tournament that serves as a qualifying tournament for the 2008-09 CONCACAF Champions League.)
Despite Huckerby’s impending arrival, Yallop didn’t sound optimistic about his chances to sign the former Norwich City forward.”Toronto still hold all the cards,” said Yallop.

Admittedly it’s been a few years since I saw Huckerby play in the Premier League, but if he brings half the attacking flair he had back then, I’d welcome him with open arms.
