It’s Tottenham

By Jeff Carlisle · October 8, 2008

Just got confirmation that the team the Quakes are partnering with is indeed English club Tottenham Hotspur.

Of course, the big unanswered question is what form is this partnership taking? Is it an exchange of information? Will Tottenham coaches be put on the staff? (Given their current  position in the EPL, that doesn’t strike me as a good thing.) Will the Quakes get some young players? And what is Tottenham’s angle?

All will be revealed on Thursday.

I’m thinking it’s just a partnership/business deal much akin to Chicago and Morelia and Dallas with Tigres a while back. Or, in collaboration with Kronke’s Colorado Rapids with Arsenal. Just the usual sharing of business data and having Quakes players train at White Hart Lane and so forth.

On that note, continue the North London rivalry in the US! ;-)

This is awesome!! I have been a Quakes season ticket holder for over 10 years and I have supported Spurs even longer.. I can’t believe my two teams will be formally connected..

Despite their current league form, Spurs are a huge club with incredible tradition and it is very well run from a financial perspective. WHL is an amazing place to experience football… I can’t wait to see how this develops… only good can come of it!!

Go Quakes!! Come on you Spurs!!
