Quakes working on international match

With yesterday’s announcement that MLS has agreed to bring Spanish titans Barcelona to the U.S. for a summer tour, the question that sprang immediately to mind was, “Will they be coming to the Bay Area?”

We spoke to a source at the Quakes’ front office and the answer is no, but the good news is that the Quakes are currently in negotiations for an international match. We couldn’t confirm whether this would involve clubs or countries, but the wheels are in motion in any case. We’ll report the details as soon as we have them.
