Talk is cheap, watching is cheaper

When asked about his trip to Seattle to watch the Mexico/China friendly, San Jose head coach Frank Yallop said that he and John Doyle did indeed watch Mexican international Antonio “Zinha” Naelson very closely. But like the shy guy at the high school dance, Yallop said that they didn’t speak to him, they only watched him.
“For us, it’s more just seeing what’s out there,” said Yallop. “And [Zinha] may be a player that’s interested in coming, but we’ve got to see how he plays.
“It was great to watch him live. It was great to watch him up close in the warmup too. I stood right on the side where he was warming up, looked at the way he goes about everything. He was very professional, a good player. It’s just a matter of, can we sign a guy like that, that’s the thing. But he looked good. He was the best player on the field.”
