The season is over for Peguero Jean Philippe
By Jay Hipps · May 27, 2008
Center Line Soccer has learned that the Earthquakes will be placing Peguero Jean Philippe on the season-ending injury list today, thanks to continued problems with his surgically-repaired right knee.
Center Line Soccer’s Jeff Carlisle will have more on the story later today.

Wow. Well, I guess that explains how we were able to have 19 players on the senior roster. How much will he have cost us against the cap this year? I assume this means his loan won’t be turned into a permanent deal then?
Two more points:
1) Thanks for the sccop!
2) In one of the earlier posts on here, Doyle is quoted as saying that we have “some protection” in the case that Peguero reinjures/fails to recover from his knee injury. Any more details on what exactly that “protection” is?
Thanks again!
it wasnt a bad gamble, and i feel bad for JP as well as our team.
who would’ve thought 2 months into our season going into the critical internationals stretch we’d have a starting forward line of kirovski and ryan johnson? oh, and i’m all for RJ–he was such a beast against houston–wished he would’ve scored to cap a great game!
[…] As CLS reported earlier on Tuesday, San Jose Earthquakes forward Peguero Jean Philippe is being placed on the season-ending injury list, meaning that his loan from Danish side Brondby is over. […]
Hopefully this puts us at the beginning of the line for the Canary.
Hi Zungazan - Alas, Huckerby is in a different pool of players. TFC put a discovery tag on Huckerby, and thus have first dibs. Peguero was in the group of former MLS players wanting to return to the league. Different group entirely, so while PJP’s leaving puts the Quakes back on top of the one list, it won’t help them with Huckerby.
….and even though he wasn’t here for long…. I sincerely hope Peguero is able to fix up his knee and get his career back on track. Good luck going forward PJP!
God dang that was quick.

This also, nicely put.
