Sunday post-game press wrap
Another road game and another loss for San Jose. Let’s cut to the chase and jump right into post-game stories:
- You can find match reports in the Mercury News, the Boston Globe, the Boston Herald, Goal.com, and MLSnet.com, as well as a minute-by-minute blog in the Globe.
- There’s a post-game story on MLSnet.com, too.
- Former Earthquake Pablo Campos started for Real Salt Lake last night against Kansas City and bagged the game’s only goal, his second for the Royals. He was profiled last Wednesday in the Deseret News.

I’d say that experiment at left back didn’t work against the Revs. I’d like to see Corrales get there, but this game was a little off.
The offense was better, though, especially Alvarez, who looked like Zidane on a couple of those mazey runs…except Zidane scored. :(
I still think we’re getting there…some of the issues I see are those kinds of things that appear right as you begin to gel, and is in fact their very disappearance that signals the club as a contender. So it’s coming, but the results are still unconvincing.
Clearly, we played better offense. That was fun to watch!
Thanks for all the links!
I realize it’s a delicate matter, but has anybody actually asked Joe what was going on when he let that second goal sail past his head and watched it all the way into the net?
