Quakes Cast Episode 33: San Jose Earthquakes and Soccer Silicon Valley Community Foundation celebrate the “City of Champions”

With Joe Nuxoll and Kelly Gray unable to make the show this week, Center Line Soccer’s own Jay Hipps joins Robert Jonas in the podcave to discuss the SSVCF dinner and Troy Dayak’s induction into the San Jose Earthquakes Hall of Fame. They both go into some detail on the History San Jose soccer exhibit that will run until the end of February 2012 and is entitled “City of Champions: 2001, a San Jose Soccer Odyssey.” Loads of great memorabilia in the exhibit, from NASL, MLS, WUSA, WPS, and the FIFA World Cup — bring your kids and the camera to San Jose City Hall to see the over 500 items in the collection.

This weekend marks the final game of the regular season for the San Jose Earthquakes. Despite the team not making the playoffs, an overflow audience is expected at Buck Shaw Stadium on Saturday to express their gratitude to the team going into the offseason. The Quakes Cast will continue to release episodes during that time — though maybe not on a weekly basis — so please keep providing your feedback to the show in the comments section below and on Twitter to @QuakesCast.
