The Baggies will make their way to Buck Shaw Stadium this summer to face the San Jose Earthquakes in a summer friendly.

The San Jose Earthquakes announced earlier today that the team will host English Premier League club West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday, July 12th at 7:00 p.m. Resisting the urge to move the game to a bigger venue — ala the MLS contest with the New York Red Bulls 10 days earlier — the summer friendly will be played at the Earthquakes home Buck Shaw Stadium.

For season ticket holders, secure those Bonus Game “B” ducats for the newly announced match — for the general public tickets will go on sale this Thursday. With the excitement and energy around the Buck last season for the visit of club partner Tottenham Hotspur, expect another great crowd this summer for a visit from the Baggies.

West Brom close out their 2010-11 EPL campaign in the next two weeks knowing they are safe from relegation. The Baggies currently reside in 13th place in the league table, and can finish no worse than 17th — and as high as 8th — at season’s end. Manager Roy Hodgson is already planning for the next campaign, as he will hope to keep West Brom in the Premier League for a second season. His primary responsibility will be to secure the future services of the team’s leading scorer, Peter Odemwingie. The Nigerian has netted a personal best 15 goals this season, placing him in the top five scorers in the Premiership.
