These Cardinal represent more than one color

It should come as no surprise that the Stanford Women’s Soccer team, a collegiate cup runner-up in the last two seasons, has graduated some big names to the United States national team. Players like Nicole Barnhart, Rachel Buehler, and Kelley O’Hara — all former members of defunct WPS side FC Gold Pride — called the Stanford campus home at one time and will represent the U.S. in the Women’s World Cup this summer in Germany.

There are two current stars of the Cardinal that will also be going to Germany, but not as part of Team USA. Instead Alina Garciamendez and Teresa Noyola will be representing Mexico this summer, and the San Jose Mercury News’ Elliott Almond has their story.
