This week’s episode of the QuakesCast features special guest Kaley Fountain of Comcast SportsNet joining Kelly Gray and Robert Jonas in the podcast studio. While proving to be a tongue-twister for Robert, Kaley and Kelly have no problem getting it straight when to expound their knowledge. And with that, the trio get right into it dissecting the San Jose Earthquakes big win at Philadelphia and look ahead to a midweek match hosting DC United.
The Earthquakes continue to lead the MLS Western Conference, and this week learned that forward Steven Lenhart was named MLS Player of the Week and forward Chris Wondolowski was named MLS Player of the Month for April. The team earns a great deal of recognition in the Power Rankings this week too, with San Jose coming in at either first or second in all the major polls.
The next opponent on the Earthquakes docket is DC United, which stands second in the Eastern Conference and come to Buck Shaw Stadium riding a seven game unbeaten streak. The Earthquakes feature a six game unbeaten streak of their own, so perhaps something has to give? One thing that is very likely to give are the goal nets at The Buck, as both teams feature high-flying offenses. They may not be in the sky Wednesday night, but expect plenty of fireworks from both sides.
The QuakesCast is always open to questions from listeners, so keep the conversation going with your comments and questions on Twitter. Kelly and Robert will get to the best questions and comments from Earthquakes fans each and every week of the season, so get involved today!
