New York was 10 minute away from sending the Earthquakes to a second straight loss to open their season. However, Red Bulls defender Roy Miller had other ideas, and San Jose was able to engineer a comeback and earn a 2-1 victory. Rookie Adam Jahn scored his first goal as a professional to level the score in the 83rd minute before Chris Wondolowski converted a penalty kick in stoppage time to give the 2013 Goonies the win.
The Earthquakes next match is on Saturday at the Columbus Crew.
