Since coming back to San Jose at the start of the 2012 season, Shea Salinas has made 47 appearances for the Earthquakes and has cemented his status as the team's most reliable outside midfielder.
Joining the club at the start of last summer, a month after the departure of former head coach Frank Yallop and with the defense playing without confidence, Jordan Stewart immediately helped right the ship and contributed heavily to the Earthquakes 7-2-3 record in MLS play over the last stretch of the season.
On Monday, the Earthquakes made official what had been reported late last year: Stewart and Salinas had been signed to new contracts ahead of the 2014 season. Both players cemented their places in head coach Mark Watson's Starting XI by the end of 2013 and will be tasked with that responsibility to open 2014.
