San Jose Earthquakes goalkeeper Jon Busch nominated for MLS Save of the Week

We like Busch!

Some like it saved!

In a week that save well more than five nomination-worthy saves, the gurus at MLS had their hands full determining the candidates for this week's Save of the Week. Crazy saves from FC Dallas goalkeeper Raul Fernandez kept both Clint Dempsey and Alan Gordon from celebrating goals, but neither was more impressive than San Jose Earthquakes goalkeeper Jon Busch's goal-line block against the Hoops striker Blas Perez.

With the Quakes playing down a man and clinging desperately to a one goal lead, Busch, having dived to his left to marshal a shot off the post, scrambled to his feet and flung himself to his right to deflect the follow-up from Perez. Coming as part of a sequence that had the Buck Shaw visitors on the ascendency, the save shifted momentum, ever so slightly, back to the home side and helped propel San Jose to victory.

"Busch has been great," said defender Ty Harden, who entered the game as a substitute. "He's kept us in a few games so far. We all owe him a thank you or two."

Or three, or even four.

And while his teammates will find a way to reward their 'keeper, Earthquakes fans can do their part by selecting Busch on this week's Save of the Week ballot. It's fun and it's easy -- just follow the link here.

"Let's get out the vote for Buschy," Harden added. "He deserves it!"

No doubt about it.
