As the MLS summer transfer window heats up, the San Jose Earthquakes are poised to make a big-money offer to an attacking midfielder. The lead candidate to receive that largesse is Argentina's Matias Perez Garcia.
Reports from abroad have him already in the United States, poised for his introduction as the latest member of the Quakes. Perez Garcia took to Twitter earlier this week to thank the players and fans of Tigre for the two years he spent as captain of the Primera Division club. And now, some of his former teammates have responded with congratulations of their own.

Perez Garcia, diminutive in stature at 5'5", is no pushover, and his former teammate's teasing is one based on the players physical resiliency. A spark plug midfielder, by all accounts, Perez Garcia's eventual introduction by the Earthquakes will give the team even more steel on offense.
When will that introduction occur? Rumors have it that San Jose will make his signing official in the next couple of days. If that turns out to be true, the next big question will be whether Perez Garcia will be ready to feature in Saturday's huge game against the Seattle Sounders at Levi's Stadium. Odds are, he won't be ready to start, but an appearance off the bench could very well happen.
