The shocking news that the San Jose Earthquakes had traded Alan Gordon to the LA Galaxy for allocation money was met with both happiness and sadness by Quakes' supporters. Long rumored to be in the works, the move of Gordon was still a galvanizing piece of business, and Twitter and Facebook users came out by storm to voice their opinions on the merits of the deal.
@robertjonas Best wishes to Gordo! Now to get a starting RB

@robertjonas yes..Quakes not playing long ball anymore..he wasn't.going to make team next year at 200k..old..slow..injury prone..

@robertjonas yes, club needs change in attack style and we get allocation $ for an aging player that has not produced last couple of years.

@futbolmonkey @robertjonas I can't be cold and detached, am heartbroken. Something was in the air, but did it have to be the Galaxy?
— Virginia Gelczis (@GinGelczis) August 11, 2014
@futbolmonkey @robertjonas He scored that goal in Toluca which was wrongly called offside. Would have been legendary.

@robertjonas It was a matter of time. We still have 2 target forwards. I doubt @SJEarthquakes will reinvest that $$ 4 other player this year

@SJEarthquakes @LAGalaxy are you serious ? Now we have to hate Alan even though he's been great with us.

Thank you Alan Gordon for all of the goals and great memories, but most of all, for always playing hard.

Its going to feel wrong seeing Alan Gordon wearing anything but @SJEarthquakes colors. @LAGalaxy gains an amazing finisher! #fb
