With their season home opener less than a month away, the San Jose Earthquakes are giving their brand new stadium a test run during this Saturday's preseason match against the LA Galaxy. Avaya Stadium -- the new jewel of Bay Area soccer -- will not be a full capacity for the Cali Clasico, as attendance will be capped at 10,000, but that does not mean that Quakes fans will go easy on the visiting Galaxy.
Most of the tickets Saturday's match have already been distributed, most to the over 11,000 season ticket holders that will be on hand March 22 when the Earthquakes play the first MLS regular season game at Avaya Stadium. So if you were one of the unlucky fans not to have grabbed tickets for Saturday, stop your worrying. Center Line Soccer has you covered.
CLS is happy to announce that we have four free tickets to give away to the match against the Galaxy, and we are going to award them to the Earthquakes fan that comes up with the best caption for the photo above. Just one of the many excellent images that Center Line Soccer's photographers capture at every Quakes game, this photo in particular seems to tell a story. We just need you to fill in the conversation.
What are Steven Lenhart and Omar Gonzalez discussing? Just some friendly banter as they jog the field together? Maybe something more sinister and NSFW in nature? Perhaps, as we saw Chris Wondolowski do with his Panamanian marker in the U.S. men's national team match earlier this month, discussing plans for dinner?
Who better to "Caption This Photo" than you. And to the best reply, Center Soccer Line will reward you with four free tickets to the grand opening of Avaya Stadium. Short on ideas for the perfect caption? Perhaps the view from your free seats on Saturday will be what it takes to get your creative juices flowing:
So let's hear your best captions. Have some fun (but not too much fun!), and share them in the comments selection below. Be sure to check back later in the week and see if you were selected the winner!
