Innocent Emeghara didn't waste any time in getting to know his new teammates with the San Jose Earthquakes, jumping into the first training session he could and not letting up at all. Now, the 25-year-old Swiss striker and newest Quakes Designated Player is excited for supporters to come see what he can do to help the team be successful.
With the pristine pitch of Avaya Stadium in the background, Emeghara gave a video introduction for San Jose fans, calling America the future of soccer and pledging to give his best to his new club. His statements echoed many of the sentiments Emeghara shared in his introductory press conference, and the smile on his face backed up the passion Innocent feels at the opportunity to make his mark in MLS.
Emeghara quickly left that press conference to prepare for the Earthquakes week-long training stint in Arizona -- and the three preseason games against MLS competition that will give him his first taste of the level of play in the league -- but not before donning a pretty sweet blue Earthquakes hoodie and laying out his plans for the season.
"We are going to give you the best we can and do everything to win every match," he directly addressed fans in the video. Those are surely words that supporters are pleased to hear. The Earthquakes begin their 2015 MLS season on the road against FC Dallas on March 7.
