The Aftershock: Predicting the MLS Western Conference standings

Robert Jonas joins Colin Etnire to break down who will be the Best in the West

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

With the preseason in the rear view mirror, the time has come to look ahead to the start of the 2016 MLS regular season. The San Jose Earthquakes, who made some moves to try to improve on last season's MLS Cup playoffs near miss, will face some stiff competition in the Western Conference. Where, exactly, in the standings can the Quakes expect to finish?

To tackle that tough question, as well as to rank the remainder of the West's ten teams that will be vying for six postseason berths, Colin Etnire invited Center Line Soccer's Robert Jonas to join him on this week's The Aftershock podcast to discuss the matter.

The pair made their predictions over coffee (yes, that is the ambient sounds of the espresso machine in the background), and each had a surprisingly similar list to the other. Where will the Quakes finish in 2016? Check out the entire show, and then let them know what your predictions are in the comments section below.
