The San Jose Earthquakes will aim to solidify their case for the playoffs as they are scheduled to host Real Salt Lake in regular season play on Wednesday at Earthquakes Stadium.
The Earthquakes are coming off a tough 2-1 loss to the Vancouver Whitecaps on the road at the weekend. Even though San Jose took the lead they struggled to control the game in the second half and that was their undoing.
They’ll face an RSL side that has been all over the place this season, sometimes fantastic and sometimes woeful. RSL are two points behind San Jose in the standings, with the Quakes above the playoff line and RSL just below it, so this is a “six-pointer” for both teams, really.
The Earthquakes are winless in their last two games, but with just three left to play they need to pick up points to ensure they reach the playoffs. It’s a mad dash to the finish for everyone, but a home win in this game would be a huge boost for San Jose’s postseason aspirations, no question about it. This should be a good one.
Odds:
Our sportsbook friends are having some technical difficulties coming into the game, but the Earthquakes have a slight edge at home coming into the match.
How to Watch:
Wednesday’s match between the Quakes and RSL will be televised locally on NBC Sports California, and in the rest of the United States on ESPN+. The broadcast is scheduled to start at 7:30 pm PT with kickoff to follow.
