The votes are in, and it’s not a big surprise: Center Line Soccer’s readers have voted Jackson Yueill the 2020 San Jose Earthquakes Young Player of the Year.

The 23-year-old, in his fourth season with the Quakes, put together his best campaign to date, playing in 24 games across all competitions, all starts, posting a goal and an assist as a midfield fulcrum.

Yueill is a rising star and looks like he could be a regular for the U.S. Men’s National Team moving forward too, even with a stacked core of young players. For the Earthquakes, he just signed a new deal, and he’s going to be a key player in San Jose unless he is sold abroad.

Yueill garnered 34 percent of the vote, just edging JT Marcinkowski, who finished with 31 percent. I think it was a pretty compelling group of youngsters up for consideration, but in the end, Yueill was the most central to the team’s prospects throughout the course of the season.
