The San Jose Earthquakes have played 23 seasons in MLS to date, and there’s been a little bit of everything when it comes to head coaches. Imports from Europe and South America, domestic North American managers, a couple guys who combine a bit of both — there’s been a lot of men to lead the Quakes in the MLS era, and a lot of ups and downs over the years.
Time to ask you to determine the best head coach in Earthquakes history. First, a few caveats: We’re doing this for the MLS era, and this includes the interim head coaches — while Jorge Espinoza only managed two games as interim boss in 1999, a fair few interim coaches actually managed for a decent stretch in a season.

Also, “best” coach is subjective, it must be said. Yallop was present the longest and won multiple trophies, while Kinnear had a long and often very good run, too. Matias Almeyda is new but he’s got a fantastic resumé. Maybe you prefer a particular playing style — have at it!
