If you need a San Jose Earthquakes fix, you’re in luck on Saturday afternoon, as NBC Sports regional networks will air vintage games.
First on Saturday comes a match against the Portland Timbers in 2012, which featured goals from Chris Wondolowski, including a vital tally in second-half stoppage time. Coming at the height of the Goonies era, this was another top example of that Supporters’ Shield-winning dramatic spirit.
The game will air at 2 pm PT, only on NBC Sports Bay Area.
Then on Sunday, NBC Sports California will air another Quakes game against the Timbers, this one from last year, San Jose’s first competitive win under Matias Almeyda. That game will air beginning at 3 pm PT.
All time in league play, the Earthquakes have a 5-11-7 record against the Timbers, with San Jose still aiming for their first win in Portland in the teams’ MLS era.
