The San Jose Earthquakes have the distinct honor of playing in the first MLS regular season game of 2021, as they will kick off the season Apr. 16 against the Houston Dynamo at BBVA Stadium.
Kickoff is scheduled for 5 pm PT, and the game looks like it will be broadcast locally, those details to be announced at a later date.
We know of three Earthquakes games in total, with their home opener taking place a week later, Apr. 24, at Earthquakes Stadium against FC Dallas. The game is scheduled for a matinee 12:30 pm PT kickoff, to be aired on Univision, TUDN and Twitter.
Finally, the Quakes will be the opponent to open 2021 expansion team Austin FC’s new venue, Q2 Stadium, on Jun. 19. This game will also be televised nationally, on UniMás, TUDN and Twitter.
The league is supposed to be releasing the rest of the 2021 schedule in a couple weeks or so. For now, we have the basics about three games, including the season opener and home opener. We’ll keep you posted on additional details as we learn of them.
