After a breakout performance in Saturday’s 3-1 win over FC Dallas, the San Jose Earthquakes’ Cade Cowell was named to the MLS Team of the Week for Week 2 of the 2021 season.

Cowell had both an impressive goal and an impressive assist in the victory, both in the 2nd half, and the 17-year-old had his best game to date in a Quakes uniform, as his exploits turned heads around MLS and made some people who weren’t paying a ton of attention to take notice.
Built different.

The homegrown attacker, who has started both of San Jose’s games so far this season, was also nominated for MLS Player of the Week (ultimately won by Chicharito) and MLS Goal of the Week (vote now!).
Given his early season form, Cowell looks set to continue his run in the lineup, and hopefully he can continue to impress. Congrats to Cade and keep up the good work.
